Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for Imposter (the iOS app and this website). The short version: we don't collect personal information about you.

What we don't collect

• No name, email, phone number, address, or other identifying information.
• No advertising identifiers and no third-party tracking SDKs.
• No usage analytics that tie back to a person.
• The display name you enter is shared only with the other players in your room so they know whose turn it is. It is never used as an identity anywhere else.

What we do store

• Anonymous session ID. When you launch the app our backend (Supabase) issues an anonymous identifier — a random UUID. It does not identify you. It exists so that if you get disconnected mid-game, your phone can re-join the same room.
• Room state. While a game is in progress we keep the room code, the players currently in the room, the rounds played, the votes cast, and which video each player saw. Rooms are deleted when the host ends the game, and any leftover rooms older than 24 hours are deleted automatically.
• Video files. The curated MP4 clips used in the game are stored privately in Supabase Storage. Players access them only through short-lived signed URLs (about 10 minutes) generated per round.

Where data is stored

All data lives in Supabase, our hosting provider. Their privacy policy is at supabase.com/privacy. Universal Link landing pages (this site) run on Cloudflare.

Children

Imposter is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Your choices

• You can stop using the app at any time. There is no account to delete.
• The app has a "Reset my data" button on the launch screen (under the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use links). Tapping it signs out your anonymous session, clears your saved display name, and rotates your local device identifier so the next session starts completely fresh.
