Terms of Use
Last updated: 17 May 2026
By using Imposter (the iOS app and this website) you agree to the following terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Who can use it
Imposter is intended for users aged 13 and older. You're responsible for what you do on the service and the display name you choose. Don't pick names containing slurs, harassment, or sexually explicit content.
How it works
Imposter is a party / social-deduction game. Each round, players watch a short video clip privately on their own phone — one player (the "impostor") sees a different clip. Players take turns saying a one-word clue out loud, then vote on who they think is the impostor. No audio is recorded by the app.
Video content & takedown notices
- The short MP4 clips in the deck are not original works of the Imposter team. We do not claim ownership of any third-party content in the deck.
- The clips are used for the purpose of a social party game and are delivered to players via private, short-lived signed URLs.
- If you are the original creator (or rights-holder) of a clip and want it removed, please email us with a brief description and proof of ownership. We will remove it from the rotation as quickly as we can — usually the same day.
Acceptable use
- Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or attack the service.
- Don't share rooms or codes with the intent to harass others.
- Don't impersonate someone else using a display name.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantees about uptime, reliability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use it at your own discretion.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Imposter.
Privacy
Data handling is described in our Privacy Policy. Short version: we don't collect personal information about you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance.
